The Get The Lead Out Program was designed for to provide low cost financing to owners of 1 – 4 unit properties to remove lead paint from their homes and reduce the risk of lead paint poisoning to children. The funding for this program is provided by a state appropriation and participating agencies include; Department of Housing, Department of Public Health, and the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. MassHousing is the administrative agency. The City of Taunton is proud to serve as a local rehab agency under these
guidelines.
Under this program 100% of the financing available must be used for the purpose of lead paint abatement activities. Deleading that has been started prior to the loan closing is ineligible. MassHousing cannot reimburse owners or contractors for work started prior to completion of the loan closing.
