	Thanks for taking the time to visit and learn about the City's Building Department MISSION STATEMENT: "BUILD SAFE BUILDINGS - CARE FOR CITY BUILDINGS" WHAT WE DO: Administer and enforce zoning Issue Permits for: Electrical Plumbing and Gas Mechanical Residential and commercial repair work (additions, alternations,new construction) Maintenance of Public Buildings: Our very busy department also plans, builds and maintains all public building facilities. The schools, public safety and general government buildings are a city asset, currently valued at over $300 million. Daily repairs are requested and performed with a 20-person staff of technicians and specialized maintenance personnel.
